What counts as a check

  • One check is one message Ascue sorts for you, however it arrives: email forwarding, the WordPress plugin or the API.
  • Obvious junk is free: messages Ascue's quick checks catch, ones it blocks while a bot is attacking your form, and repeats of a message your site got in the last day.
  • Trying messages in the free checker on this site doesn't count.
  • Your checks reset at the start of each month.
  • Nothing is lost if you run out. Messages over your limit are delivered to you unsorted until the month resets or you upgrade.

How it compares

People already pay to fight form spam. A Shopify reCAPTCHA app is $4.95 a month, and OOPSpam lists $49 a month for 100,000 API calls and Akismet plans up to $250 a month. Those are prices as the companies published them when we checked.

Those tools score how likely a message is to be a bot. Ascue answers a different question: is this a lead, a sales pitch, or spam? That's the part a CAPTCHA can't help with, because a person typing a pitch passes every bot check.

Pricing questions

Is there a free trial?

The Free plan is the trial, and it doesn't run out: one site and 50 checks a month for as long as you like. Upgrade when Ascue is earning its keep.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Yes, any time from your dashboard. Billing runs through Stripe, and you can cancel from the billing portal. Your plan stays active to the end of the period you paid for.

How does yearly billing work?

You pay for 10 months and get 12. Solo is $90 a year, Pro $290 and Agency $790.

What are custom thresholds?

On the Agency plan you can set the confidence levels each site holds messages at, instead of choosing Relaxed, Balanced or Strict. Most people never need it, which is why it lives behind an Advanced switch.
